INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Rachel Carson Model United Nations Club!
Hello, and welcome to Rachel Carson Middle School's Model United Nations Club. Model United Nations, (MUN), is a simulation of world politics in which students are put in the position of diplomats and assemble in committees to speculate, debate, and propose solutions to address global issues facing our world today. From colossal General Assemblies to the European Union to the cabinets of warmongering nations, and even behind the scenes to some of history's darkest moments, Model UN offers students the opportunity to delve profoundly into a wide variety of topics that are sure to face students in their near future. Students learn how to effectively communicate, collaborate, and argue, as well as learn leadership skills that will be valuable in any career field. However, through all of the hours of research, writing, and debate is a program that truly reflects its popular motto: "MUN is Fun", providing the jumping point for many to succeed beyond the boundaries of the committee.
